Get Geared up for the Annual MRHA Awards Banquet
Freestyle Auction
2012 is upon us, and there are lots of plans in the works for our year’s activities. You will be receiving in the mail your membership renewal application, and your banquet reservation form.
For the past two years, the Freestyle Rider Auction, and the Open Freestyle class held at the Big Sky Classic have been not only a crowd favorite at the show, but a significant fundraiser for the MRHA. Yes, we will be doing it again! Heck, someone has to give Cameron Meissner a run for the money! We appreciate everyone who puts themselves up for auction, and those who ride in the class. This is an OPEN class, and anyone interested can ride in it, AND include themselves for nomination for the auction. We are hoping to get a good slate of riders on the auction block by February 1st. New Year News
Hello MRHA!
It is the first of January, and even though I know we have many more days of fuzzy horses, the bright blue sky and sunshine are making me think of all the upcoming reining horse activities that will be upon us before we know it. Please mark your calendars with the following events!
JANUARY: Our annual board elections are approaching, and we are pleased to have volunteers of the highest caliber on our ballot. The following nominations have been made:
President – Doug Robinson
Vice-President – Billi Heigh
Board Member (2 yr. term) – Merry Jo Smith
Board Member (2 yr. term) – Priss Leslie
Board Member (2 yr. term) – Keli Smith
Board Member (1 yr. term) – JB Gans
Per the letter to Members that was sent out from our Secretary, Rex Jacobs, additional candidates could be nominated up until January 5th, so there may be additions to the ballot.
Please watch your mailbox for your 2012 Membership Renewal. Everyone whose membership renewal is received by January 31 will be entered into a drawing for a free dinner at the Awards Banquet.
FEBRUARY: We all look forward to a night of fun and camaraderie at our Annual Awards Banquet and Auction. This year’s event will be held at the Best Western GREAT NORTHERN Hotel in Helena on February 18th. (Please see the website at www.mtrha.com for more information.) We promise another fun-filled evening of no-host cocktails, shopping the silent auction, music, dancing, golf, live auction bidding on your Freestyle Rider, and of course, the presentation of the awards. Plan to arrive early in the day and participate in the General Membership meeting scheduled for 2:00 p.m. There will be some new programs, and changes to show rules discussed that you won’t want to miss.
